A visit of Athens without a tour of the Peloponnese and Nafplion is not complete!  With a luxury van and your private guide follow the coastal road of Athens leading to Peloponnese and drive past cities that were important in ancient time overlooking at great vies of the Aegean Sea and the Saronic islands that lay between Athens and the Peloponnese. In about one and half hour reach the Corinth Canal that was opened in 1893 and is the narrowest and most stunning canal of the world. Continue through a route with endless olive groves and vines to reach Mycenae, the home city of Agamemnon the leader of the Greeks in the Trojan war. Homer’s Iliad comes to life when visiting the imposing beehive grave of Agamemnon, the famous lions Gate at the entrance of the once well-fortified Acropolis with the Cyclopean walls composed of massive rocks. Climb to the top of the city to see the remains of the palace and stunning view, no wonder the city was founded here in the early Bronze Age, the position was out strategic! Continue through the Argolis plain with its millions of orange groves to reach the seaside city of Nafplion once the first capital of Greece. Enjoy lunch in one the local taverns by the sea and explore one of the best-preserved Venetian cities with its scenic narrow alleys, Venetian style houses and public buildings that lay below the three overwhelming fortresses of the Acronafplia, Bourzi and Palamidi with its 1000 steps! Nafplion is a paradise of photographers that like discovering cities off the beaten track!.  The Nafplion Tour can also be combined with a visit to the best-preserved theatre of Greece, Epidavrus situated about 40 min from Nafplion. It was once a famous medical center and the theatre part of it! The acoustics are tremendous up to this day and the theatre is used for classic performances during the summer.
